Oh my we’re into the 30’s now, that means I’m into my last quarter of pregnancy! I’m not going to lie I’m pretty much ready to be done being pregnant now. I mean I really can’t complain, I haven’t had any major issues or problems, but I also am not one of those people who loves being pregnant either. I’m ready to have control of my body back and it would be really nice to not wake up in the middle of the night with brutal heartburn (I realize all the people who’ve had babies are probably laughing at me right now, I have no idea what I’m in for!) I’ve had a bit of a stressful week this week as I failed my one-hour gestational diabetes glucose screen and had to do the longer fasting test. I’m still waiting to get the results back from that second test and have been worrying a lot about what will happen if I fail this one as well. I know there’s no point being stressed out as there’s not really anything that I can do about it, but I’m still nervous. I’d really like to just know one way or the other. Continue reading
Welcome to 2018! I always find the idea of a new year very exciting. A new beginning, time to reset and refocus. Not that I necessarily ever actually achieve any of my new years resolutions, it is nice to take some time and reflect on how you’d like your year to go, what your vision is. I think I’ve gotten a bit better over the years though at setting more realistic and achievable goals, I don’t expect to somehow be transformed into a Victoria’s Secret model by the end of the year anymore! Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA lately, I’ve gotten busy with the holidays as I’m sure all of you have been. Then I just got into lazy holiday mode, curling up around the fire, reading a book or watching a Christmas movie, life doesn’t get much better than that! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and have lots of exciting plans for New Years, I’ll have to live vicariously.

We’ve been getting into the holiday spirit lately, doing lots of Christmas themed activities. We went to the Toronto Christmas Market last week which I actually just found out is one of the top rated Christmas markets in the world. We go every year and if you happen to ever be in Toronto in mid-November to December then I highly recommend you give it a go. Unfortunately I couldn’t have any mulled wine this year, but the hot chocolate was pretty good too. Continue reading
It feels like shit is starting to get real. It’s crazy to think that in the next couple of weeks if the baby were to be born she could potentially survive. Obviously I would like her to stay in there a while longer and I’m not trying to trivialize the experience of parents with pre-term babies. But, it does make it feel more real, like she’s a real squirmy baby in there rather than a little tadpole, alien thing. Continue reading
Can you believe we’re already a week into December? It seems to be flying by so far with a million things to do. I’m very proud of myself for being *mostly* done with my Christmas shopping, just a few picky people left to deal with. I’m headed to a few Christmas Markets this weekend so hopefully I’ll find some amazing gifts there and be done! As you can see I’ve been keeping a pregnancy journal just for myself and I’m a little behind on my updates for the blog, I’m 22 + 5 as I write this post. I’m hoping to continue this journal as a baby book once the baby arrives, and yes I know my writing is illegible, my partner Greg tells me that all the time! I’m not super artistic, but I’m inspired by all the amazing bullet journal artists there are out there, do a search for bullet journal (or ‘bujo’) on Instagramm or Pinterest and you’ll see what I mean!
Originally when I was first planning this post I was going to do a What I Ate Wednesday sort of post. Back when I was attempting to blog previously, in around 2014 or so, the WIAW thing seemed to be what everyone was doing, it seems to have faded in popularity. Anyway as I began planning the post, I was thinking about what I would eat the day of my post and instead of it being an accurate reflection of what I was actually eating it became my interpretation of what I thought I was supposed to be eating.
